Max was left at a doggie hotel by his previous owners and after six months, the hotel gave him to Yorkie Rescue SA to be looked after and re-homed, which is where he found his new human, Candice.

When he first came home with Candice, he was aloof and stressed – but with time he’s become a very relaxed dog, and shadows Candice wherever she goes. He especially loves accompanying her on the daily school run. In fact, he’s so chilled, he often let’s Candice’s three kids try out their Build-a-Bear clothes on him!

Candice’s secret treat for Max? Cat treats – and little bits of chicken and biltong. Which is also a great way to get his attention when you want him to pose sweetly for a picture.
